26 year old Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse has set a record for Canada on Wednesday after securing a gold medal in the 200 meter final with a time of 19.62.
He won bronze in the 100m and today got his gold in the 200m to give his country their first good in a century.
With the fastest time out of the blocks, De Grasse looked to change that and managed to clock the fastest time in the world for 2021 and the 18th-fastest performance in history. His golden moment has finally come as he held off the Americans who placed 2nd K. Bednarek 19.68, 3rd N. Lyles and 4th E. Knighton .
