CHEETAH FC PRESIDENT YARTEY DONATES ITEAMS AND CASH TO GHANA BLIND SPORTS ASSOCIATION


The President, founder, and bankroller of Cheetah FC, Abdul Hayye Yartey yesterday donated some items plus cash to the Ghana Blind Sports Association at the Accra sports stadium. The Association, is preparing their blind football team towards their Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games qualifiers slated for Enugu Nigeria from November 22 to December 1 2019.
The items include ghc2000 cash, 20 pieces of Lacoste, 2 sets of training vests, 16 pairs of jerseys, 2 pairs of goalkeeper’s jersey, 18 pairs of hose, 16 pairs of shin guard and assorted drinks.
Alhaji Abdul Hayye Yartey noted for his benevolence said he believes in giving back to society at any given time so when a friend placed a call to me to help I gladly accepted to assist the Association.
Ben Nunoo Mensah GOC President thanked Yartey for his example and urged other philanthropists to support disability sports.
Mr. Eric Kissi who was very happy praised Yartey and promised that as they prepare to go to Nigeria and Morocco for the Olympic qualifiers, they will win and represent Ghana at the biggest sports festival in Japan next year.
He said they have several events such u Judo, Goalball and Athletics but they are concentrating on where they have comparative advantage and where they can win medals.
Meanwhile the blind football team play their Ivorian Counter parts in an international friendly on November 1.
The Ghana Blind Sports Association is the wing of the Ghana Blind Union and the body mandated to develop blind sports in the country in collaboration with the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana.
